Description
ARMY ACHIEVEMENT MEDAL: Awarded for Meritorious service or achievement in either combat or noncombat situations based on sustained performance or a specific achievement in the course of their duties.
ARMY COMMENDATION MEDAL: Awarded to members who distinguish themselves through heroism, meritorious achievement or meritorious service in the course of their duties in a combat environment.
AIR MEDAL: Awarded to Pilots and Aircrew who distinguish themselves through heroism, meritorious achievement or meritorious service in the course of their duties in a combat environment.
MERITORIOUS SERVICE MEDAL: Awarded to members who perform outstanding meritorious service or achievement both within and outside of comat operations.
PURPLE HEART: Awarded to any member who is wounded in action, but not killed, during any official mission. For each 5 additional wounds a service star may be added to the medal ribbon.
SOLDIER'S MEDAL: Awarded to a member who distinguishes themselves through heroism whilst not engaged directly with enemy forces either within or outside of official missions.
BRONZE STAR: Awarded to any member who performs a heroric act of merit or act of valor whilst engaged in military operations involving an enemy opposing force.
DISTINGUISHED FLYING CROSS: Awarded to any Pilot or Aircrew who performs an act of heroism or extraordinary achievement while participating in an aerial flight.
LEGION OF MERIT: Awarded to any member who performs an exceptionally meritorious action in the performance of outstanding services and achievements that directly saves the lives of one or more allied individuals.
SILVER STAR: Awarded to any member who displays unprecedented gallantry in action whilst engaged in direct action involving an enemy opposing force.
DISTINGUISHED SERVICE CROSS: Awarded for an act or acts of extraordinary heroism that have been so notable and have involved risk of life so extraordinary as to set the individual apart from his or her comrades whilst engaged in action with enemy forces.
MEDAL OF HONOUR: Awarded for conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity at the risk of life above and beyond the call of duty whilst engaged in direct action with enemy forces. The deed performed must have been one of personal bravery or self-sacrifice so conspicuous as to clearly distinguish the individual above his or her comrades and must have involved risk of life. Incontestable proof of the performance of the service will be exacted and each recommendation for the award of this decoration will be considered on the standard of extraordinary merit.

Description
PRISONER OF WAR MEDAL: Awarded to a member who finishes any official mission as a Prisoner of War or is otherwise listed as MIA at the end of an official mission. Disconnects during official missions do not count towards the Prisoner of War Medal.
GOOD CONDUCT MEDAL: Awarded for maintaining good conduct and activity as a new member fo the unit, awarded upon promotion to Private First Class.
ARMED FORCES SERVICE MEDAL: Awarded for distinguished service to the group outside of official missions.
HUMANITARIAN SERVICE MEDAL: Awarded to any member who distinguish themselves by meritorious participation in specified military acts or operations of a humanitarian nature. Additional awards are noted by a service star on the medal ribbon.
AIRBORNE AND AIR ASSAULT COMMEMORATIVE MEDAL: Awarded to all founding members of the 53rd Air Infantry to commemorate the origins of the unit.
NATIONAL DEFENSE SERVICE MEDAL: The National Defense Service Medal is awarded upon completion of 6 months active service with the 53rd Air Infantry. For each additional 6 months service a service star may be added to the medal ribbon.
HONOURABLE SERVICE MEDAL: Awarded to all members who honourably retired from the 53rd Air Infantry with an exemplary service record. All members awarded this medal are entitled to re-enlistment and do not need to undergo Basic Training.
ARMED FORCES RETIRED COMMEMORATIVE MEDAL: Awarded to all members who retired from the 53rd Air Infantry with a satisfactory service record. All members awarded this medal are entitled to re-enlistment.
AIR ASSAULT GRADE ONE: Awarded for participatating in 10 combat Helicopter Insertions.
AIR ASSAULT GRADE TWO: Awarded for participatating in 25 combat Helicopter Insertions.
AIR ASSAULT GRADE THREE: Awarded for participatating in 50 combat Helicopter Insertions.
AIR ASSAULT GRADE FOUR: Awarded for participatating in 100 combat Helicopter Insertions.
PARACHUTIST GRADE ONE: Awarded for completing the Parachutist Qualification Course.
PARACHUTIST GRADE TWO: Awarded for participatating in 10 combat Parachute Jumps.
PARACHUTIST GRADE THREE: Awarded for participatating in 25 combat Parachute Jumps.
PARACHUTIST GRADE FOUR: Awarded for participatating in 50 combat Parachute Jumps.

EXPERT: Awarded to members who score an accuracy of 95% or above during their Basic or Infantry Specialism Training. (29/30)
SHARPSHOOTER: Awarded to members who score an accuracy of 80% upto 94% during their Basic or Infantry Specialism Training. (24/30).
MARKSMAN: Awarded to members who score an accuracy of 70% upto 79% during their Basic or Infantry Specialism Training. (21/30)
RIFLE: Awarded for participatating in 10 combat Parachute Jumps.
PISTOL: Awarded for participatating in 25 combat Parachute Jumps.
MACHINEGUN: Awarded for participatating in 50 combat Parachute Jumps.
M203: Awarded for completing the Parachutist Qualification Course.
MARKSMAN RIFLE: Awarded for participatating in 10 combat Parachute Jumps.
BASIC INFANTRY BADGE: All members who pass their Basic Training are awarded the Basic Infantry Badge and are assigned to the main combat roster.
COMBAT INFANTRY BADGE GRADE ONE: All members who successfully complete their probationary period within their assigned Squad are awarded the Combat Infantry Badge - Grade 1
COMBAT INFANTRY BADGE GRADE TWO: All members who successfully complete an Infantry specialism course are awarded the Combat Infantry Badge - Grade 2
COMBAT INFANTRY BADGE GRADE THREE: All members who successfully complete the NCO training programme and serve in an Infantry unit are awarded the Combat Infantry Badge - Grade 3
COMBAT INFANTRY BADGE GRADE FOUR: All members who successfully pass the Officer Candidate School and serve in an Infantry Unit are awarded the Combat Infantry Badge - Grade 4
MEDIC GRADE ONE: Soldiers who have completed the basic combat lifesavers course are awarded the Medic- Grade One Badge
MEDIC GRADE TWO: Those soldiers who have completed the Platoon Medics training course are awarded the Medic - Grade Two Badge
MEDIC GRADE THREE: The most experienced Medic in the Battalion may qualify for the Medic - Grade Three Badge and take the position of Medical Chief.
INSTRUCTOR: Members who are assigned to the training staff and successfully graduate at least one class of recruits become eligible for the Drill Instructor's badge
RECRUITMENT OFFICER: Members who are part of the recruitment team that successfully recruit 5 other soldiers who remain active for 3 months after completing their Basic Training become eligible for the Recruitment Officer Badge.
PUBLIC AFFAIRS OFFICE: Members who take on additional duties with the Public Affairs Office become eligible for the PAO badge.

ARMY SUPERIOR UNIT CITATION: Awarded to a Fireteam, Squad or Platoon which displays outstanding meritorious performance during a difficult and challenging mission carried out under extraordinary circumstances.
MERITOUS UNIT CITATION: Awarded to a Fireteam, Squad or Platoon which displays exceptionally meritorious conduct in the performance of outstanding service, heroic deeds, or valorous actions.
ARMY VALOUROUS UNIT CITATION: Awarded to a Fireteam, Squad or Platoon which displays extraordinary heroism and gallantry in action against enemy forces.
JOINT MERITOUS UNIT CITATION: Awarded to joint operational units which display extraordinary heroism and gallantry in action against enemy forces. The joint operational nature must extend above and beyond other individual unit citations.
PRESIDENTIAL UNIT CITATION: Awarded to a Fireteam, Squad or Platoon which displays extraordinary heroism, gallantry, determination, and esprit de corps in accomplishing its mission under extremely difficult and hazardous conditions so as to set it apart from and above other units participating in the same campaign.

UNITED NATIONS MEDAL: Awarded for participating in at least 20 combat missions in any NATO Campaign not covered by other campaign medals.

NATO-ISAF MEDAL: Awarded for participating in at least 20 combat missions in any NATO ISAF Campaign.
GLOBAL WAR ON TERRORISM EXPEDITIONARY MEDAL: Awarded for participating in at least 20 combat missions in the Global War on terrorism Expeditionary Campaign.
GLOBAL WAR ON TERRORISM SERVICE MEDAL: Awarded for participating in at least 20 combat missions in the Global War on Terrorism Campaign.
AFGHANISTAN CAMPAIGN MEDAL: Awarded for participating in at least 20 combat missions in the Afghanistan Campaign.
LIBERATION OF AFGHANISTAN CAMPAIGN MEDAL: Awarded for participating in at least 20 combat missions in the Liberation of Aghanistan Campaign.
IRAQ CAMPAIGN MEDAL: Awarded for participating in at least 20 combat missions in the Iraq Campaign.
DEFENCE AGAINST RUSSIAN AGGRESSION MEDAL: Awarded for participating in at least 20 combat missions in the Defense against Russian Aggression campaign.
STRATIS CAMPAIGN MEDAL: Awarded for participating in at least 20 combat missions in the Stratis campaign.
ALTIS CAMPAIGN MEDAL: Awarded for participating in at least 20 combat missions in the Altis campaign.
CHINA/KOREA EXPEDITIONARY MEDAL: Awarded for participating in at least 20 combat missions in the China/Korea Expeditionary campaign.
CHERNARUS CAMPAIGN MEDAL: Awarded for participating in at least 20 combat missions in the Chernarus campaign.
TAKISTAN CAMPAIGN STAR: Awarded for participating in at least 20 combat missions in the Takistan campaign.
THE BEER MEDAL: Awarded at the discretion of the Command Staff during any campaign.
